This League shall be composed of teams consisting of no more than 10 novice
adult members over 30 years of age with only 5 riders allowed to compete
at each show. Classes will be: 4 flat classes, 2 over fences (height 2')
classes and 1 finale class with riders picked by random draw from each
team. Each rider may be entered in a total of 3 classes at a show, unless
picked for the finale and then they might be in 4. No team can have more
than 3 riders in any one class. The Finale Class will be composed of 2
riders per school and will consist of a flat phase, 2 fences and a question
pertaining to the sport or horse management. Every rider's points will
count for individual except finale and team points count in all classes
except alternates.
-
A rider in this league may not have shown at any show in the past 5 years
where the fence heights exceed 2'6".
-
You must be enrolled in and participating in weekly lessons at the barn
as of October 1, 2003.
-
Shows shall be held on Friday evenings. You should
arrive at the host school at 6:45 dressed and ready to ride. Draws for
horses begin at 7:00 pm. Meet should start at 7:30 and end at approximately
11:00 pm. Social hour after shows to be decided based on need!
-
All horses will be selected by random draw before the show starts and riders
will receive a 2 minute warm-up on the flat and be allowed to jump 1 warm-up
fence before doing their course.
-
Team membership fees are $200 per team and must be paid by October 15.
This money pays the league fee.
-
Points shall be awarded 7 (1st) 5 (2nd) 4 (3rd) 3 (4th) 2 (5th) 1 (6th).
-
Riders may ride any horses at the Finale Meet that are currently being
used in their stable in a regular lesson program, however privately owned
or leased horses are not allowed unless used by another student at the
barn.
-
Team practices will be held on either Wednesdays at 8:30 pm or Sunday afternoons,
schedule permitting. Students not semester students will pay $15 for practices
or 1/2 lesson.
-
Anyone missing two practices in a row will automatically ride as an alternate
unless there are extenuating circumstances.
-
All riders will receive a study guide about basic equitation information.
Questions in the finale class will come from this study guide along with
basic horse knowledge.
This League is for the purpose of having a good time, giving adult riders
a chance to be a viable part of a team, promoting good riding and competition,
as well as encouraging those very important barn members (our adults) to
add another dimension to their riding.
